Welcome to the W.P.O.A. Website

The Whittier Police Officers Association was organized and exists under the rules and regulations of it's by-laws, the laws of the City of Whittier and the State of California. The W.P.O.A. was formed in order to bind its members in a closer bond of fraternity, to aid each other in distress, in sickness, accident and death; to promote and improve social intercourse and welfare between the members thereof. The W.P.O.A. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and in addition collectively bargains for better wages, employee benefits and for the improvement of working conditions.

The membership includes Officers, Corporals and Sergeant. Our civilian counterparts (Dispatchers & Community Services Officers) may also be members however do not have voting privileges but enjoy full legal defense representation. Command Staff comprising of the Chief of Police, Captains and Lieutenants have their own Police Management Association.

The W.P.O.A. has steadfastly represented the members through both bountiful and lean times. The association has enjoyed and has continued to foster a harmonious working atmosphere with the police administration and the governing body of the City of Whittier all to the benefit of the employee.
